Respond to Racism (RtR) in collaboration with Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO) and the Lake Oswego Public Library (LOPL) seek applications from individuals interested in serving as panelists on the review selection committee for a public art installation request for proposals (RFP), launching July 15, 2025 and closing on August 15, 2025. This is an opportunity for artists and artist-teams living in
Oregon to submit proposals for a site-specific public artwork installation at the exterior of the Lake Oswego Public Library to be unveiled by Summer 2026. One artist/artist team will be selected to create a two-part public art installation a) sidewalk stamps along 4th Street between D and E Avenues in Lake Oswego, and b) interpretive panel(s) that communicate historically relevant and accurate information regarding the history of racism in Lake Oswego and the City’s aspiration to be free of
racism, as well as embodies themes of hope and healing, along the same block. Panelists must apply by 11:59 PM PT on June 20, 2025.
The first installation project we did like this resulted in, "Ms. Willie's Dream," a 8' x 15' mural by Sarah Farahat at City Hall.
