Can you believe it's almost February! If "getting involved" was part of your new years resolution, block off some calendar space and get involved! Here's some events that we aren't directly organizing, but align with our mission and right in your backyard.

Feb 2 - Lunar New Year Festival at Lakeridge HS - 1:00-4:30PM

Organized by Lakeridge's Asian-American & Pacific Islander student union, come enjoy cultural performances, delicious food, and other fun activities as they ring in the Year of the Snake. This is a free, all-ages event. Click here for more details and to reserve your spot.

Feb 22 - Portland-Metro BSU Culture Fest - 12:00-3:00PM

Co-hosted by both Lakeridge & Tualatin HS Black Student Union, this community event will have delicious food, vendor booths, live-music and more.

Feb 27 - Black Exclusion in Oregon: Mariah Rocker - 5:30PM

Amidst the historical backdrop of Oregon’s formation, the state grappled with Black exclusion laws, pro-slavery influence, and the free state versus slave state debate. Join Mariah Rocker from Oregon Black Pioneers as she explores these dynamics and their profound impact on Oregon’s Black community.
