RtR Community,
Â
Juneteenth has been a federal holiday since 2021. Since then, it's gained public awareness but it still might be unclear for some. It's celebrated on June 19, hence the name, to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States. This is a day to celebrate and rejoice for everybody interested in challenging social injustices, not just black people.
Â
With that said, last
year's Juneteenth event only had three sponsors: the City of Lake Oswego, as well as RtR and the International Leadership Academy, which are both black led organizations. We challenge the businesses and organizations in our community to sponsor this years event and help make Juneteenth talked about around the lake. At the end of this June, I'm envisioning Bruce asking me to write a celebratory follow-up with a shattering comparison between the 2024 and 2025 events in sponsorship and overall
attendance. See below for sponsorship levels and contact info.
