Below are the guidelines for both volunteer needs:
Setup
We highly encourage volunteers to arrive NO LATER THAN 4:00 PM. When you arrive, please meet in the main lobby to await further instruction. These are the tasks that need to be completed:
- Set up tables,
chairs, and tablecloths
- Help decorate the venue. This includes setting up fake trees, centerpieces for tables, setting up the balloon arch, twinkle lights on the walls, candles, table settings, etc.
- Help set up the red carpet
- Organize silent auction baskets on tables to look presentable
- Set up auction item tables (includes making signs)
- Set up check-in area, including space to pass out up to 200 complimentary copies of the 1619 Project (please note
that copies will be available for all volunteers)
- Set up checkout area for payment
- Place QR codes and pledge sheets on tables
Cleanup
We are asking volunteers that are helping with cleaning up to ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 9:00 PM. We specifically need help with the following:
- Taking down decorations (twinkle
lights, candles, etc.)
- Putting away tables, chairs, tablecloths, etc.
- Taking down the red carpet
- Packing up leftover books
- Picking up trash (if any) around the event space
- Taking out trash
- Sweeping the floors
