RtR community,

There's a lot happening in the community over the next month, including two events this coming weekend! 

First, we're thrilled to offer a Conflict Resolution and De-escalation training facilitated by Amber Boydston on Saturday, Sep. 14 from 11am-3pm at Lake Oswego United Church of Christ. If you haven't registered yet, there's still time to sign up.

On Sunday, Sep. 15, RtR will be tabling at the Cultural Xchange Festival from 12-7pm at Millennium Plaza Park. We could still use volunteers to help staff the booth for 2 hour shifts. If you're interested, learn more and sign up here.

RtR is also partnering on a couple of timely events featuring elected officials as we move through general election season. On Thursday, Sep. 19, the Clackamas County Equity Coalition is hosting a panel on Equity in Clackamas County Today and Tomorrow at Lake Oswego United Church of Christ from 5-8pm.

RtR is also partnering with the LO Sustainability Network to host an LO Mayor and City Council candidate forum on equity and sustainability on Monday, Oct. 7 from 6:30-8:30pm. Even though the candidates are running unopposed, these issues are critical to the health and wellbeing of our community. We encourage you to join us on Oct. 7 (doors open at 6:00pm and refreshments will be provided) or tune in on youtube.com/@respondtoracismlo for the live stream or playback later.

There are also a number of events hosted by our community partners that you should put on your calendars! The Lake Oswego Library will be hosting a free screening of the Korean film Past Lives as part of its World Cinema Series on Tuesday, Sep. 14 from 5:30-7:15pm at the Lake Theater. The Library is also hosting a series of events for Freedom to Read Month from Sep. 22 through Oct. 19. 

Our friends at Vanport Mosaic are hosting Coming Home, a week-long series of events honoring communities with deep ties to Portland's Historic Old Town from Saturday Sep. 28 through Saturday Oct. 5. Last but certainly not least, the West Linn Alliance will be hosting a staged reading of Sube y Baja (The Teeter Totter) by Francisco Garcia on Monday, October 14 at 7pm at the West Linn Lutheran Church.
