NEWS: Aug. 17 canceled; Caterer Announcement!

RtR community,

We have a couple important announcements regarding our August and September affinity and workshop sessions.

First, we are cancelling the August 17 Intangibles Day workshop series and moving the individual workshops to future dates. For example, if you've signed up for RtR's fundraising committee (which you can do now if you haven't already), we'll be providing the fundraising basics workshop for your group later this fall. Likewise, if you're looking for help with navigating the RtR website and other tech/social media tools, we will be scheduling another date where YEC students will be answering questions and providing tech support. Stay tuned.

Second, we are excited to announce that Classic Shawarma will be catering for the upcoming BIPOC and white affinity work sessions on August 31 and September 2, as well as the Conflict Resolution and De-escalation training on September 14! Make sure to register if you haven't already (registration info below). All registered participants will be sent a Google form to place your orders. We're thrilled to have Classic Shawarma providing delicious food for these work sessions!

Register for the RtR August and September Sessions

Reminder: Instead of public community meetings, RtR will be hosting a series of work sessions/trainings during August and September to sharpen our approach and build our capacity to meet the anti-racism needs of Lake Oswego. Each session will be at Lake Oswego United Church of Christ and food will be provided. See below.

August 31, 11am-3pm (Doors open at 10:30; Required for BIPOC board, leadership and YEC members)

BIPOC affinity group focused on healing techniques, community building and agenda setting for RtR (because the communities most impacted should be setting our priorities)

September 2, 3pm-7pm (Doors open at 2:30; Required for white board, leadership and YEC members)

White affinity group focused on effective allyship and tangibly supporting the priorities identified in the BIPOC group

September 14, 11am-3pm (Doors open at 10:30)

Conflict resolution and de-escalation training led by Amber Boydston

September 28, 11am-3pm (Doors open at 10:30; Required for all board, leadership and YEC members)

Strategic planning work session led by Amber Boydston
