Respond to Racism LO Echoes Calls for a Ceasefire Now!

Respond to Racism stands against racism, discrimination and marginalization of people in all forms, supporting the rights, dignity and equality of all individuals in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel, as well as their extended families and communities worldwide. We condemn violence and advocate for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the release of all Palestinian prisoners and Israeli hostages. As of Nov. 8, over 11,000 Palestinians have been killed, over 29,000 have been injured, and 1.5 million Gazans have been displaced while over 1,400 Israelis have been killed and over 5,000 injured. In addition, US Congressional representatives have introduced a bill to expel Palestinians from the US and the only Palestinian American Congressperson, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, has been censured for her calls for a ceasefire. Anti-Palestinian, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic hate crimes are spiking while universities and lawmakers are attempting to criminalize calls for a ceasefire. None of this makes anyone safer. We believe in fostering understanding, peace and justice for every person, irrespective of their background, nationality, ethnicity or faith. We urge our supporters and community members to join activists demanding a ceasefire now.
