Respond to Racism September 11 Community Meeting - Life After the Bubble - In-person/Zoom - Reminder!

This event seeks to spotlight the experiences of alumni and former students of color from Lake Oswego schools.

"Life After the Bubble" will feature interviews from various students, each sharing distinct cultural experiences and reflections from their time in LO. The objective is not just to provoke thought, but to inspire our community to adjust our racial justice approach, making it more inclusive and centered around LO’s communities of color. The community meeting will incorporate clips from these interviews and will culminate in a facilitated discussion. Register Today!

Bruce Poinsette is a writer and community organizer whose work is primarily based in the Portland Metro Area.

A former reporter for the Skanner News Group, his writing has also appeared in the Oregonian, Street Roots, Oregon Humanities, and Eater PDX. Poinsette has also worked with various nonprofits and teaches writing through Literary Arts’ Writers in the Schools program. He has worked with Respond to Racism in various capacities since 2017 and is a Lake Oswego High School Class of 2007 alumni.

This meeting will be held at the Lake Oswego United Church of Christ, 1111 Country Club Rd, Lake Oswego and on Zoom. Please note the meeting starts at 6:00pm. The church will open at 5:30pm and the Zoom meeting will open at 5:45. The Zoom link will be emailed Monday morning to those who have registered.
