Bob Henderson is a native of San Jose, California, and holds a degree in Psychology. He retired from law enforcement after 26 years of service, and is a member of the National Association of African American Police Officers. Bob gives regular presentations about the history of law enforcement, and has dedicated his life to studying African American history, which is an American story. He assists diverse groups in understanding from a historical perspective why we continue to have two different criminal justice systems: one for Blacks and one for Whites, and law enforcement’s role in breaking this cycle by building trust within the respective communities they serve. 

Don Plunkett is a business owner in the New York City building construction industry, and an adjunct professor of business at the City University of New York.  In the 1980s, he was a police officer in the Bronx, New York, and retired early after being injured.  He volunteers on a confidential task force that responds to NYPD shootings and other trauma.  After witnessing senseless gun violence in this capacity, Don decided to no longer carry firearms, and is an advocate for gun safety.  Don lives with his wife in New York, with two grown children and a grandchild nearby.

Denmark Whitaker DJ Avelanche (he/him) knew from a young age that music was what he wanted to do in life because of the way it made him feel.  He has spent 3 decades in the entertainment industry working for some of Portland's top radio stations, hosting national mix shows, and as a performer alongside many major artists.  As a DJ and musician, Avelanche truly loves all styles of music.  When it comes to teaching, he wants people to feel something special and enjoy music as he does whenever he performs.
